BELLEABEAU ‘TROPICAL FEST’ IS HERE

Something beautiful that has been on for a while now; it’s BELLEABEAU - the biggest and most beautiful lifestyle exhibition happening in Lagos, recall the URBAN SAFARI edition that sparked light in people’s hearts. 

  

The atmosphere was electric and the air was thick with love –love for the Fashion, Makeup, Gele and the Kiddie’s Runway as well as the Food.  The URBAN SAFARI was the first indoor shopping experience that got a lot of people talking, from the concept of the event, to the products sold by vendors, Games, the DJ was super lit, the musical performances were everything that could make your night.
 It was a well-attended event with over a thousand guests and over 40 vendors. With attendies’ bellies full of yummy grills, healthy smoothies, fresh palm wine and a couple of mocktails and cocktails, the show kicked off with makeup runway followed by a musical performance.
The Art exhibition was nothing short of magical with loads of talented artists showcasing their finest pieces, while there was live body painting.  
Now the much talked about Lifestyle Concourse BELLEABEAU will be back July 2nd themed TROPICAL FEST; with over 50 vendors and engaging activities for customers.

Nnenna & Friends Children’s Day Show held on the 27^th of May at the National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos was indeed a huge success. With over 3,000 attendees who had lots of fun and went home with lots of gifts, the organisers are full of appreciation to the sponsors of the event; MTN, Indomie, McVities, Rite Foods, So Yummy, Viju Drink, Peak Chocolate, Beloxxi, Big Cola, Nnenna & Friends Cartoon Magazine and wapTV. 

Wave-making Artistes like Sugarboy, Nev Harrison, SLK aka Boda Wasiu, PEFTI Band and a host of others spiced up the event with sterling performances. Papa Ajasco & Company also did not relent in their usual hilarious stage drama.

TAIWO CLEGG RELEASES NEW SINGLE - KPOYA OMEMMA

Lagos-based international trumpet player, Taiwo Clegg has released a single off his debut album, "NAVIGATION”.  The single, titled "KPOYA OMEMMA” is a call to praise song he released to give people a feel of good gospel music, soul lifting delivery and a spice to Christian living. 

Taiwo who is known for his dexterity in playing the trumpet has worked with notable artistes like Tee Mac, Mike Aremu, Muma Gee, Yinka Davies, Late Steve Rhodes, Orlando Julius, Sunny Neji, Imoleayo Balogun, Ron Kenoly to mention a few and performed at different festivals around the globe.

This Lagos-based International trumpet player also leads a brass group of passionate and distinct players. They have re-arranged master pieces like Hallelujah Chorus, And the glory, Worthy is the lamp, Hymns etc to suit brassy conceptions. 

Taiwo Clegg can play all genres of music from High life, Jazz, Gospel, Afro, Salsa but his area of specialty is Gospel, Jazz and High life.

Public Speaker, Writer, Blogger and T.V Host, Olamide Adenuga has been honoured with the ‘Trailblazer Award’ by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in Diaspora, Benin Chapter. This is in recognition of his contribution to the development of society, particularly in the area of Youth Development through his conferences and seminars on Leadership, Human Capital and Entrepreneurship Development.

Olamide inspires people to see the good in themselves, make the most of their lives, and get in touch with the greatness within them. He is a Nigerian who believes that the right mentality can power anyone to success; an ideal man who is out to transform people and places he comes in contact with. 

Olamide Adenuga is also a Speaker at University campuses & Secondary schools; he has addressed Youth Groups across the country and is blessed with the ability to effectively multitask.

He has featured on Radio and Television shows severally. He is also a Seasoned Trainer and Public Relations Specialist who has written articles in various newspapers, journals and magazines. He is the Publisher of Plush Magazine.

Olamide used to be a Personal Effectiveness columnist with Ovation International Magazine.

LAGOS REFUTES REPORT OF PLAN TO REPLACE FAWEHINMI, ABIOLA STATUES AT OJOTA PARKS

The Lagos State Government on Tuesday refuted reports that it was planning to replace the statues of late Chief MKO Abiola and late Chief Gani Fawehinmi at the Ojota parks with another monument.

Acting Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Adebimpe Akinshola, while reacting to a media report that the State was planning to replace the statues, said the ongoing remodeling of both parks was to accommodate bigger sculptures of the two prominent Nigerians.

According to her, “Rather than replace the two conspicuous monuments, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture with the approval of His Excellency, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, the Governor of Lagos State, commissioned group of artistes to remodel the entire park and erect a new but bigger, better and more aesthetic sculpture of the two prominent Nigerians for better appreciation of their contribution to the development of Nigeria”.

She said the Government was already set to complete the remodeling of Late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola Garden at Ojota with a new statue and water fountain to enhance the aesthetic value of the park for better appreciation by visitors and enhancement of the June 12 presidential election narrative.

The Acting Commissioner said the remodeling work on Chief MKO Abiola statue commenced late January 2017 and was presently about 70 percent completed.

She said the project also includes additional facilities such as a water fountain and a designated mini park, adding that the Chief Gani Fawehinmi sculpture also at Ojota was about 60 percent completed, while the park was being enhanced with another work of art called “The Possibility”.

Akinsola reiterated the resolve of Governor Ambode’s administration to change the face of Lagos with the ongoing erection of 29 artistic sculptures and monuments at strategic locations across the State.

She said while many of the new world class creative monuments are at advance stages of completion, six of them completed and officially unveiled including the statues of the first settler in Lagos, Prince Olofin (erected at Ijora); the first King of Lagos, Prince Ado (erected at Moloney Junction, Lagos); Ojuloge (erected opposite the National Theatre), which celebrates and conveys the sense of beauty, grace, style and passion for fashion of Lagos Women.

She listed other completed monuments including The Drummer (erected at Ipakodo, Ikorodu), which depicts the Yoruba music culture, Youth Empowerment (erected at Sabo Yaba), which depicts situations and resources the youths deploy to improve quality of life as well as The Fisherman (erected at Badagry junction) which depicts one of the occupations and heritage of the people of Badagry.
