Matthew Iduoriyemkemwen, a former majority
leader, Edo State House of Assembly is the gubernatorial candidate of the Ali
Modu Sheriff faction of the PDP in Edo State.
Iduoriyemkemwen yesterday emerged winner after
polling 481 votes to defeat member representing Egor Ikpoba Okha Federal
Constituency Ehiozuwa Agbonayinma who had earlier stepped down from the contest
to support the eventual winner.
The venue of the primary – Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium
was later opened for the exercise after officials had earlier been denied
access into the place by security operatives.
