REBRANDING LAGOS TO BOOST TOURISM ....

The State Government is calling on all Lagosians and interested individuals to download the ‘One Lagos’ App developed as part of efforts to boost tourism and make Lagos the preferred destination in Africa.
The Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Folorunsho Folarin-Coker who made this known at a Ministerial Press briefing in commemoration of the 1st year anniversary of the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode-led administration stated that the app was developed to enable every resident and visitors in Lagos make informed decisions on tourism choices and destinations within the State.

Mr. Folarin-Coker explained that the ministry recognizes the importance of strategic branding of destinations to the development of tourism and is exploiting the identified benefits of destination branding by registering the “One Lagos”, “Love Lagos”, and the “One Lagos Fiesta” brands at the trademarks registry. “Consequently, using technology, creativity, arts and culture to push the new Lagos agenda, we have developed the ‘One Lagos’ website and mobile application to provide authentic Lagos content for tourists and residents of the state.”
According to him, the app showcases “the true spirit” of Lagos by providing real  time information on arts and cultural events, nightlife, entertainment, lodgings as well as emergency services, traffic and weather reports and much more.

The app and an interactive website, the ‘One Lagos’ brand is scheduled to be launched formally before the end of this month and will serve as the countdown to “Lagos @ 50” celebrations next year.
