EMEKA ANYAOKU, OLUSEGUN MIMIKO, KUNLE AFOLAYAN AND OTHERS TO MEET YOUTHS TO DISCUSS JOBS AND OPPORTUNITIES IN NIGERIA

Every August 12 is the United Nations International Youth Day.
In commemoration of the day and with special focus on this year’s theme - “The Road to 2030: Eradicating Poverty and Achieving Sustainable Consumption and Production”, RISE Networks; one of Nigeria’s leading social enterprise on Youth in Education, Entrepreneurship and Public Service in partnership with the UN Office in Nigeria is organizing a programme that will engender robust conversations with thought leaders and professionals from various alternative industries to the monolithic Oil Economy and practical insights on how the successor generation of Nigeria will survive in the post oil era by focusing on acquiring major skills with or without formal education with Speakers providing perspectives for an all- inclusive future.
There will be focus on the pivotal directions Nigerian youths are taking (and should be taking) towards ending poverty and ensuring sustainable development. Speakers at the event are:
1. CHIEF EMEKA ANYAOKU, former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth and Distinguished Chairman of the Occasion - "Road to 2030: Eradicating Poverty and Achieving Sustainable Production and Consumption".
2. The Governor of Ondo State, DR. OLUSEGUN MIMIKO headlines as Keynote Speaker – “The Blueprint of Successful Youth Development”. They will be joined by:
3. KUNLE AFOLAYAN (Actor, Film Producer, Director and Panel Guest Speaker) – “Opportunities for Young People in Africa's Growing Film making Industry”.

4. AISHAH AHMAD (Panel Guest Speaker & Head, Consumer Banking & Wealth Creation, Diamond Bank PLC and Chairperson, WIMBIZ – Women in Management, Business and Public Service) – “Can Money End Poverty? Multiple Streams of Skills and Income as Survival Strategies for Nigeria's Youth
5. JOY ISI BEWAJI – (Feminist Writer, Newspaper Columnist and TV/Radio Presenter  & Panel Guest Speaker) - “Skill Acquisition Versus Formal Education- Which is More Relevant to the Future of Youth?”
6. AUDU MAIKORI (Lawyer, Social Activist, President of Chocolate City Entertainment Group, Panel Guest Speaker) – “How Public Private Partnerships in Entertainment can Foster Job Creation and Increase Productivity Among Nigeria's Youth Population”. 
7. NKEMDILIM BEGHO (Founder/MD, Future Software Resources & Panel Guest Speaker) – “Why Technology is the Next Big Thing for Africa's Youth Empowerment”.
8. OKECHUKWU OFILI (Founder of Okadabooks.com.& Panel Guest Speaker) – “Hello Innovation: The No Nonsense, No Bullshit Approach to Scaling Through Tough Times in Nigeria”.

Note: The programme is open and free to all.
This year’s theme of the International Youth Day is about achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It focuses on the leading role of young people in ensuring poverty eradication and achieving sustainable development through sustainable consumption and production.
